All Souls’ Day: All Souls’ Day is a time to remember and pray for all the faithful departed, those who have passed away. It’s about honouring their memory and asking for God’s mercy on their souls.
All Saints’ Day: celebrates all the saints, known and unknown, who have attained heaven. It’s a day to recognise their holy lives and seek their intercession.
Jesus Breathing Life Back into Us: This theme is about Jesus’ power to give new life, both spiritually and physically. It reflects His ability to overcome death and bring hope and renewal to our lives.
Applying the Themes to the Readings
Isaiah 25:6–9: Theme: God’s promise of salvation and the end of death.
Application: Trust in God’s ultimate victory over death and sorrow. Celebrate the hope and joy that comes from God’s promise of eternal life.
Psalm 24: Theme: God’s sovereignty and the call to live a righteous life. Application: Recognise that everything belongs to God and strive to live a life of purity and integrity. Honor God in all aspects of your life.
Revelation 21:1–6a:Theme: The new creation and God’s eternal presence with humanity. Application: Look forward to the new heaven and new earth where God will dwell with us. Let this hope inspire you to live faithfully and with the assurance that God will make all things new.
John 11:32–44: Theme: Jesus’ power over death and the promise of resurrection.
Application: Believe in Jesus’ power to bring new life. Let His compassion and miracles strengthen your faith and encourage you to trust in His ability to transform your life.
